Kamara Cansielo, born in 2000 in Spain, recited the Shahadah (the Arabic term for the declaration of faith in one God and His messenger) at the Mohammed VI Mosque in Rabat.

Following the Friday prayers at the mosque, she declared, "There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is his messenger,” thus embracing Islam.

There were a large number of worshippers at the mosque when she read out the declaration of faith.

They congratulated her on the blessing of becoming a Muslim.

She has changed her name to Maryam after her conversion to the religion.
